Known as Alfy to those who don't speak Arabic, and a bunch of his friends who do, Abdallah founded The Layman's Report as a reaction to biasedly authoritative journalism. Despite insisting that TLR primarily showcases the work of "reporters, not authors", outside of TLR, Alfy has authored two books (one under a pseudonym) and is eagerly authoring more. Besides a long career in communications, content writing & editing, along with translation and niche journalism, Alfy also has pretentions to strong scientific and creative backgrounds, being a licensed pharmacist in multiple jurisdictions, a public speaking instructor, and an active candidate for two master's degrees for "Creative Writing & Literature" and "Applied Biotechnology" respectively.
One of the first recognized mental health acupuncture specialists in the United States, Michelle has been a passionate advocate for integrating ancient Chinese medicine for a modern society. As a direct descendent of the Royal Family physicians of ancient Korea, her passion for mental health led her to pursue her second master’s degree in Psychology. The host of 2 podcasts, as well as a contributor to Vogue magazine, Dr. Michelle, despite being more expert than laywoman, is excited to be stepping into this world of TLR.
A half Egyptian, half Irish, London-born millennial, Adam is blessed and cursed to have a foot in both East and West. Blessed in having a native’s perspective from both worlds, and cursed in feeling he doesn’t fully belong to either. The fundamental element of showcasing dual perspectives is what attracted Adam to TLR; allowing readers to differentiate between facts and personal perspectives, is, in his view, the only strategy that will keep journalism alive and free from the denigration of propaganda. A property developer with a passion for politics, cinema, music, fitness, and writing, Adam is a Psychology graduate with over a decade of experience in sales, recruitment, and business management. Having recreationally written short stories, novels, and fan fiction, the opportunity to explore a fresh approach to journalism with TLR excites him.
